No startup after Heater Core Installation??

I just replaced my heater core today. It took me just about the whole day to uninstall and reinstall everything, but I was tired of being cold lol! This morning when I turned on the key to listen to my radio everything was working. Then later on tonite when I got done, I get nothing, no interior lights, no accessories, no headlights no nothing!!! I dont know what went wrong between this morining and tonite. I just bought my battery, so Im kinda ruling that out , I made sure everything I unplugged was plugged bak in I hope.

Ever consider you drained the battery dead if you had the car doors open all day while uninstalling and reinstalling the heater core.

Buy yourself a multimeter while you're out. They're cheap and will give you the answer in seconds if your battery is dead.

If it's not dead, then you'll need it to troubleshoot further. They're a very handy tool to have and easy to use.

don't be scurred of it just cause it has a **** and wires!

How do I bleed this thing when I get it bak running? I heard some people say to park on a steep hill, and do it. But does the radiator cap need to be off or on, and do I need to unloosen the intake manifold bleed screw(If anything goes through it). Then Ive recently been using this radiator cap which has nine pounds of pressure. It seems to get the car up to normal operating temperature much faster than the 13lb pressure cap I had on there, which would result in heat inside the car much quicker. But recently the system has been finding weak spots, and small drips of coolant leak out at times with the 9 lb cap on. But I guess ill worry bout that once I get the car started

It could possibly be your battery but if it's new it shouldn't have died like that, nothing getting power at all I mean. What happened when you tried to turn the key? Nothing at all, did it even try to crank at all. It sounds like you forgot to plug some stuff back in or by accident knocked something off. I would buy the multimeter like suggested and go back over everything from top to bottom, good wrenching.

update! I just got the battery back and it was low on charge, I was scared for a moment because I checked very carefully that I plugged everything back in before I put the dash board cover back on. I figure I did leave the doors open for hours yesterday and didnt disconnect the battery cables, so it along with some corrosion and a bad negative cable terminal drained it dry. Took it to pep boys and they said it had a dead cell, took it to autozone and they charged it right up! Put it in and she started right up. I was afraid that I ****d sumthing up, being that I never took on a job of this magnitude by myself and on my own. Everything turned out great. I still have A/C and NOW I HAVE HEAT!!(YESS) 2 years without heat is long enough! HOTT Heat at that! Thanks for everyones advice on heater core removal and installation, I just saved myself at least 500 for labor charges.

Well I also need my suspension worked on, now that Ive got the heater core out of the way, I can move on to replace the rear shocks. I just couldnt take it anymore, I was out driveing the max the other night, and I was freezing my butt off inside! Now I can focus on my motor mounts and the interior.

Try four years of Tacoma WA cold weather. I did that as i was out in WA. Til beginning of this year. To me all my suspension components i replaced were more important as the front end of the Maxima would go through tires like nothing. Now all suspension on the maxima are new and most of it is life time warrantied well only parts not are 4th gen energy suspension control arm bushings and brand new hubs from Nissan.

yah I can imagine the Weather in NYC man, But actually I only went one winter without heat, and by that time it was near spring time when my core sprung a leak so I didnt worry about replacing it. Plus the labor charges were outragious. $400, So im looking like well maybe its time to get another car. I never thought I could do the job myself! The last winter i was gonna replace the heater core, and then the tranny died on me, so the car sat all winter, and I fixed it in the spring of this year. But I couldnt go this winter with no heat!
