what rims fit our car?

would these fit?

http://columbia.craigslist.org/pts/2098305256.html

or these

http://picasaweb.google.com/jasoneki...=embedwebsite#

they are both 5 x 100

i always see pretty good priced rims around my area but i never know which ones fit our car. its time for a rim upgrade and toss the gay ugly 15' factory rims. please help me out. i would get factory 18' from a newer max but i could never find any.

adapters are dangerous, and/or expensive. I wouldn't trust 'em.

My 22mm spacers are essentially just adapters but without changing the lug pattern. Since they're so thick they couldn't be the longer stud+spacer setup. My spacers bolt onto the stock studs with stock lugnuts and then have new studs that I bolt my wheels onto. I haven't had a single problem with them in 5+ years on two different VEs.

But mine are a very nice set. They're hubcentric and were built custom for me by Fred Goeske. He makes/sells adapters too and I wouldn't hesitate at all to run them.

I don't know if I would trust some random eBay ones, though. Then again, I would think any wheel worth having would be available in 5x114.3, so this is kind of moot

i wouldnt fiddle with adapters, i would just get some stock Altima or 5th gen Max rims or some generic 5x114.3 tuner rims and call it a day

It is 5x114.3

which is the same as 5x4.5 (5x4 1/2)

Look for offsets in the +25 to +40 range, depending on width.

Most newer Japanese 5 lug cars are 5x114.3 (there are some exceptions that are 5x100 -- most Subarus) but no German cars have 5x114.3.

Ford has a few (Mustang, Probe, Explorer)

Dodge Intrepid, minivans, Jeep Cherokee. Any Dodge car that has a Mitsu counterpart (stealth, talon).

Your best bet is probably to stick with aftermarket or Nissan/Infiniti rims -- Maxima, Altima, G35, 350z, M35, etc. most look good on our cars. I was looking for some Rogue SL wheels. I think those would look nice painted dark on my car. I found a set a while back, but the guy wouldn't come down on his somewhat outrageous price.

Toyota Matrix are 5x100, same as Pontiac Vibe. but most 5 lug cars are 5x114.3

thought it was funny you can actually get 5x114.3 to 4x100 adapters, thats questionable safety

just keep searching local ads and you'll find something, like the n00b i bought my TE37's from. they were off his friends Skyline and he didnt even know what Rays is he just pulled the price out of his ****

Not sure if this of any use, but my wife's 99 regal wheels fit my Max. Had to borrow the spare out of it for a while....

It's not all about matching bolt patterns fellas. Measure that center bore and make sure it's at least 66.1mm IIRC.

I remember way back I bought a set of snow tires/rims off a Camry and thought they would fit because of the bolt pattern, boy was I wrong. Their center bore was a good 6mm less than my hub and they wouldn't go on. Luckily I was able to sell them and get my money back.

yeah i had the same thing, someone mentioned Mitsu Eclipse rims fit 3rd gens and i bought some early '00 ones, bolt pattern matched but i think it was the center bore that wouldnt work and i had to sell them at a loss

Yeah, I forgot about that.

Usually, I don't look on CL to get other OEM wheels, just aftermarket wheels that are on other cars. Most aftermarket wheels have a large bore and I just buy centric hubs. I have bought two sets of aftermarket wheels that were from non-Nissan cars.

i'm just turned off of buying rims though, after i sold the Eclipse rims i bought the Momo Arrow slightly damaged, then i got the TE37. ive never used the Momo's and posted a ad on a local tuning forum and one of the previous owners of the Momo's actually found the ad and said they deflate within half a hour of having pressure on them

tires are going on the Rays in a couple months, if for some reason those dont work i give up

All those won't fit....the one's which the small concentric bore won't fit on the Maxima hub unless they're machined to except that 66.1 mm hub....All the Toyotas (Lexus), Land Rover, Ford Probe, Daewoo Legenza are no go'ers!!!!

5th gen max. should be 17x7 + 38 iirc. same inner bore as a 3rd gen (66.1mm right?) so they are as bolt on as bolt on gets. not exactly flush, but the same wheels fit great on my car with no rubbing on 225-50-17

yea i have 225/55/17 on the back and they barely touch the struts imma change em to 225/50/17 on the back or 215/50/17 on all four.

yea the 50 profile for those widths is closer to the stock size (25.5").. 215 is dead-on, 225 is 25.9", so the 55 profile you have now is somewhere around 26.3 i would guess.

Speaking of wheels...I'm lookin' for some new shoes for my baby. I'm thinkin' 18's would be tight...just have to find something I like. I'm probably going after market but if I find some nice Infiniti rims I might consider hooking them up. I'm feelin' black or platinum with a chrome lip...no Big chromed out rims for me. Anybody see anything out in the market that's interesting?

i was looking for 18's for a while and nothing ever came across my path till i ran across the ones i have now and they are 17's plus they were $50 for all 4 with the tires so i snatched them up quick. they make the 3rd gen look a lot better.
