IDK, one of my first cars was an 87 Integra GS. It wasn't terribly fast, but I still remember it being a fun car to drive, very tossable and very quick in the twisties, even stock. I'd say it was the most "fun" daily driver I owned until I bought the subaru. In 280,000 miles, that car only required two non-wear fixes: a CV joint and 2 new injectors. And the A/C died because I was too broke to get it recharged, lol. This was 18 years ago now!

I wander aimlessly around here on occasion, lol. I'm mostly in OT these days when I'm on here. Busy on NASIOC/clubWRX/etc trying to learn a car that is totally different from the maxima these days!

I can actually even do better. After the Integra I had a '92 Accord EX coupe. Still pretty fun to drive, much nicer than the teggy. IIRC I did 180,000 miles on that (bought it with 50k) and replaced NOTHING other than a wheel bearing (at 170k miles).

Yep, I was sad when I traded it in for the 2000 maxima, but needed something with 4 doors and less miles....180k is tempting fate! And I wanted something with a V6 since I was going up the mountains alot to ski, and a loaded-down Accord required alot of downshifting and was not much fun going up.

Lets not turn the 3rd gen section into an EVO vs WRX thread

Lmfao vg30e running 15's maybe on a good windy day with the wind pushing it. Wasn't factory 16.4 for the vg30e.

yeah but whats the fastest a VE has gone stock or built? on a track, Wangan_Cruiser got his VG to 270km/h and VG30E in Z31 have gone 300km/h

Anyways. I raced my buddy today, he was in a newer integra. It was an automatic with an exhaust and an intake. Pretty fun race considering i couldnt take off for shiit. Idk how fast we got up to but i was catchin up. Almost passed him before we had to slow down. Wish i had a vid. Haha.

Im happy to say that i going to pick up a rebuilt b18b for 350 bucks tomorrow. Thank god for craigslist

It's a over priced Honda dime a dozen. Weak *** double wish bone suspension. Oh and vtec on Hondas are jokes top end torque is useless. "VTEC JUST KICKED IN YOOOOOO" Lmfao

By the way we read in mph not km. And numbers have been figured out for top speeds of what the VE30DE can do when governor has been removed. 188Mph is what top speed the factory internal transmission can do. Im sorry VE30DE is more predominant than the VG30E.

we (the rest of the world pretty much) read in KM/H lol

im not talking CAN do, im talking what has been done by a normal person. we know now that a VG 3rd gen has hit 270km/h in the hands of a normal guy

and Hondas may suck power-wise but they have a awesome aftermarket (good stuff not including altezzas and stuff)

So 270kmh is what, 170 mph?

I don't care if that guy got his car up to the point where his speedo said 270kmh, there's no way at all he was actually going 270 kmh/170 mph. No way at all.

I would be skeptical of even a super built 3rd gen doing 170 mph. Hell, many true sports with superior aerodynamics and insane power have trouble doing 170 + mph.

Wait why does that 3rd gen have a 300 km/h speedo?? Is that what the Euro ones came with? How and why? Something fishy about that pic. What mods did he have? My VG auto couldnt make it past 124 on its 125mph speedo.. Thats all Im sayin.

VE with 188mph gearing? Says who???

James, the 3rd gen has a .32 drag coefficient if I remember correctly and thats actually pretty good. Some true sports cars actually have worse. Bet that helps the VE on top end.

im guessing the gauge is custom, IIRC Euro ones only had GXE style gauges and i dont think anyone made 300km/h speedos for 3rd gens. he said its 5spd

Thread search numbers have been figured for the VE30DE and if governor is removed and you added a speedo that can tell you what speeds your doing beyond the 145 mph on 92-94se gauge it would top out at 188mph. I top out in 4th gear around 2,500rpms at 145mph all in part to do with built in factory governor. And no i don't drive autotragic strictly a VE-5 speed owner.

So, what yall are trying to say is, the original poster should have kept his 3rd gen so he could go 170 mph?

they really aren't saying anything, anymore.
we were saying "shoulda kept the 3rd gen, because it's just better (both stock, and when in his possession)"

That's funny. redline at 4th gear in a VE is good for about 130mph, not 145mph at 2500rpm. 5th gear at 145mph would be about 5100rpm.
And VEs don't have governors. Stop talking out your ***.

Hatman? posting about street racing? doh. enjoy your new home on the Honda forums.

And this thread has gone far enough off topic.
