That little piece is a bolt on piece you can easily remove it like four small bolts holding it on. I should know I have removed it off of three of my four maximas. 4th one is a parts car I picked up for two hundred bucks

its not too hard, you have to turn the white gear thingy all the way to one way (cant remember if its left or right) and theres the long skinny screw adjuster below it, you have to turn that all the way to one way as well, and IIRC theres some bolts. i cant remember though, i had to replace one headlight 2 years ago, and removed my OEM ones for the Euro ones last summer

wear gloves though, i used needlenose pliers and my hands to turn the white gear, but i had lots of bleeding cuts because of how hard it was to turn, that and on the one side the skinny screw is a b1tch to get to. its not too hard to do though

thanks a lot bro. im looking into getting the euro lights too since the bmw mod ones are a PITA to fabricate and ppl sell em for crazy prices.

Why not just take the whole headlight assembly off? It's just held on with four 10mm bolts. Two on the side under the corner light and two on the back beside the radiator (and then you can always remove the actual headlight from the assembly with it off the car)

eh i havent done it that way yet, the junkyard car that i needed the OEM headlight off had oil EVERYWHERE under the engine bay so i just wanted the bulb assembly, and then one of the brackets on my Euro headlights was busted (i knew that when he sold them to me) so it was easier to just throw the Euro glass into my old brackets

That's it right there...nine times outa ten, the **** so rusted that doing it any other way is pointless.

Coming in late on this one, but I'd like to add that I think white looks best when you have accents of black. ie, the bottom-most area on the car should not be sprayed over with the white, all 3rd gens are two-toned, I can spot a respray from across town. Rock guards help avoid a white washed look as well. I think black is the classiest color for a car, but white has functional advantages.

Oh, yeah, I made it.

I used to make/sell them back in the day on here. It wasn't just your crappy run of the mill "shove some mesh in there" like you see occasionally. I added plastic/material to the underside of the upper bar of the grille so that it was solid and didn't have the 4 cut-outs along the bar, etc. I still have it in the garage
