Drivetrain Mounts
I don't know if this has been covered before, but I'll ask anyway. I want to stiffen up the motor and trans mounts in my 89 5-spd to handle additional power and eliminate excessive wheel hop. As there exist only stock replacements, does anyone know where to get a two part rubber or polyurethane material suitable for filling stock rubber mounts. I tried JB weld, but that was too firm and didn't set very well. I just broke apart.
Thanks

Have you tried searching? About 2-3 months ago (?)there was a thread that should tell you everything you need to know. It involved buying the softest grade of urethane from your local plastic shop, pouring it into the mount (somehow) and letting it set.
Find the thread and you will find your answer!

yup, what they said.
Energy Suspension makes mounts for VG autos, but I don't know if they'll fit on a VG 5 spd also.. they should, but I know the OEM mounts are different part #s.
I've just used 80 durometer urethane in mine and it helped tremendously. you can buy it from most industrial supply places for about $25/quart.
