This should work the same since i have a 93 gxe. get a flashlight and piece of paper. get on the floor of the front passenger side under the glove compartment. look around for a gold box with some letters and numbers on it. the last 7 digits on the whole paper is what you need to write down. now go to the number pad on one of the doors. press 'clear' and then enter in those 7 digits you wrote down. there's gonna be a beeping sound for a while. during this beeping, enter in the new code you want. if it keeps beeping when you're done, just leave it, it'll stop on it's own. the new code you put in should now work. let me know if anything i said isnt clear.

Is there a minimum number of numbers that the new code should be?

If you'll read your owner's manual, it's clearly explained in there.

I don't have a manual, that's why I'm asking.
Thanks.

That $100 the dealer wants is such BS! I think I've seen it in my manual too - if I have time I might get some info for you, but I still highly recommend you get a manual from a junk yard or something since the manual has LOTS more useful info in there. Like how to change your lightbulbs and what kind they are, maintenance, capacities, how to use all the gadgets, factory alarm function, etc. etc, etc.

btw, no 3rd Gens come with remote anything.

its true what alix85 said to u man. i also have a '93 gxe and i went through the same. i did take it to the dealer but i wasn't charged for it. the guy did it for free. but yeah check under the glove compartment for a gold box and write down the 7 digits. bman is aslo right about something else. the 3rd geners never brought a remote for the factory alarm. but yeah what alix85 said should work for u cuz it worked for me. http://community.webshots.com/user/max_driver
