HID's

I curently have a set of Nokya's installed, but now all my friends are getting them. I wana move up to something like hids or the almost puprle xenon in newer BMW's. However i read somewhere that to use HID's correctly you need a whole new reflector and lens. I saw a few people here with HID's in what looked like stock housings. What's goin on? Can someone set me straight please.

Stock housing is meant to displace light horizontally, the reflectors in the housing are created based on the position and intesity of the 9004 bulb. When you install HIDs, you throw everything out of balance. The HID bulb will blind all oncoming traffic and the beam pattern is distroted because HID bulbs dispalce vertically, not horizontally. I have HIDs in stock housing, the light is bright, but my beam pattern is totally off. Once I get my projectors into my BMW lights, it will be fine. Proejctors help correct the HID pattern because they were created for HID bulbs. Here's some pics of my lights in housing:

here are hiper industries 9004s that i used to have

notice the light intesitsity. the fogs are comparible to your "hyper-white" bulbs.

i will most likely pick up a set of the euro lamps in feb when the shipment comes in from china. mmm sexy. the us spec lights will be hard to work with b/c of the non-removable front, the euro spec have the fronts that come off easily.
