I am at the mercy of you Maxima Pundits.

I searched for stuff about my question before coming here, and now with the risk of being screamed at for being stupid..... here goes.

My trunk release is being goofy. If I push the button, it may open the trunk or not. Either way, I'll get it to open on the 3rd or 4th time I press the button. Why is this? I can hear it trying to open, but it just doesn't disengage fully. It's the same thing with the keypad trunk release.

Anything I might be able to tighten to make it release better?

open your trunk w key/switch(whichever works at the time) and look at your latch ther is a little metal looking switch can you can raise(so u can open from the cabin) or lower(so u can only open with the key)it may have gotten stuck in btwn up and down.

you might have to adjust your trunk too. If the latch is too tight it will be hard to open. Losen the trunk hatch form the inside and raise it a little. That should getrid of your problem.
