bucking/stalling
bucking/stalling
Help my 92 Maxima SE will sometimes start bucking when you are driving along as if you were turning the key on and off lift your foot off the gas and hit it again and it runs fine. occassionally it will just stall at idle. I have replaced the plugs new fuel filter, TPS, and just did the maf sensor runs better but still bucks intermittently. The ecu test of the o2 sensor says its fine and no codes on anything. Help.
mine as well. i was at a light and it turned green. pressed the gas and it died. put it in park, started it, and it started and it was okay then.

I Have The Same Thing!!
Hey, wats up, just wanted to let you know, that on my '92 SE 5spd, I have the same thing, out of nowhere, in mostly 2nd gear, sometimes 3rd, but it would buck and be like if i took my foot off the gas and hit it again, when im really just keeping it there, let me know if u find out anything about wat this could be,thanx, lata!
Re: I Have The Same Thing!!
Its driving me nutz I have tuned it up, replaced the fuel filter, the TPS and just did the Mass air flow sensor. Having spent a lot of time on it whats happening is the car is going in and out of Limp Home mode. Meaning the RPMS drop to under 2k but it continues to run. It speeds up and slows down by itself for a few seconds then runs normally. I have had it to several shops who just seem to be replacing parts. I just brought a multimeter home to check continuity in the TPS or the possibility of a broken wire in the TPS or Mass Air flow harness.
bucking/surging
What's up with the 92SE 5 spd I have one also and mine does the same darn thing, I'm trying to get a hold of an Air Mass sensor, thinking that may solve my problem. But from what you guys are saying that doesn't seem to solve the problem. What to do now.
I kinduva semi fixed the problem, what I did is advanced the timing a bit and lowered my idle speed. It seems to work fine except when its really cold. You guys may want to give it a try.

Re: Re: bucking/stalling
I've looked over my engine for any before, problem is vacuem leaks are not intermittent, I can go for days and not have the problem then get it daily. Question when you guys remove your gas cap to fill up the tank do you have a large pressure release?

gents possible clogged injector?
once in a while it acts up-bad injector connectors? make sure they are nice and clean.. no rips on the boots. a shot of dielectric grease does wonders.
