Need help in finding transmission that can be used from another car or make. my part of the world is where very few parts are available for a Nissan maxima. mine is an auto but wont mind if swapping to a manual if its easier to get.

Which motor do you have? VG or VE? Hint: If yours is like the one in my sig then its a VE. If you look in the classifieds there are at least 2 people selling 5spd swap parts. I don't know if they still have them or not. see if they'll ship to you.

might be able to use parts or the whole tranny from a Mercury Villager/Nissan Quest van with VG30E, otherwise VG30E were used in RWD vehicles

the 80's 200sx were RWD, as i said before the only other tranny besides another 3rd gen one that would work are from Mercury Villager or Nissan Quest with VG30E because they were FWD

I thought or heard that because of the trans plate (the one between the flywheel and the block) for the Villager/Quest that the starter wouldn't work. Idk just trying to clarrify for my own knowledge.
