All Newbies Please Read - PROPOSAL

Gentlemen:
We may agree with Matt93GXE about the repeated questions or may disagree - it doesn't matter. The only thing I know for sure is that
1. ANY information is valuable
2. Max forums must be helpful for an inexperienced car owner as well as for skilled drivers/enthusiasts
3. Since MAXIMA.ORG is going to move to dedicated server it's a good time to write down all our proposals concerning any desired improvements of the forum.
So I venture to post a new thread intended to collect our opinions and proposals.
For example:
My proposal is to classify all incoming info to some sections (links) in the following manner: TRANNY, FLUIDS, MODS, DIY, ROADKILLS, REPAIRS... etc.
As I'm not great with the Web technology my proposal can be silly, blah blah blah...but maybe the skilled PC specialists will elaborate something quite different. The modern hard discs have a great storage capacity and are able to save and store a lot of data. So it's not necessary to throw away the repeated questions/answers or to establish any additional limits or restrictions. Just redirect the thread to the corresponding section. If anybody wants to read a section - he can do it or vice versa. Also it will be good to place some simple rules on the initial forum page - how to name a new thread to make it's subject clear for the participants. Or to place some kind of a reminder - something like "Please read the previous posts before posting a new thread - surely the answer is already there"
The general idea is to save expensive connect time and to avoid unwanted downloads.
So how about it?
Regards,
DDD

good thinkin, but I FEEL 90% of that could be solved by the simple premise of "read before you post".. Way back when I was a kid, I was taught to listen to what people had to say, then ask questions if I didn't understand, not to walk into a room and start asking questions..
blah blah whine whine..
what you're proposing is part of what the search function was designed for on here.. if they want to know stuff about clear corners, simply hit "search" then fill in clear corners, select the forum(s) you want to search (3rd gen, 4th gen, all, etc), and hit go..
wait a few seconds, then it pops up 50zillion links to various posts about the subject. wow! neat stuff!
a lot of this stuff (mods and sources) is also covered on the maxima.org homepage
look at this-->

amazing, isn't it? someone has already neatly classified much of this info for me..
