Courtesy Nissan will have lifters. Schneider has cams and springs if upgrading.

What don't you call them up? I've seen 3 different manufacturer's claim they had coilovers for the 3g and they were all for the A31.

sorry...i thought you were kidding...
to my knowledge edelbrock does NOT make anything for imports.
http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_...ts/index.shtml

Vic Edelbrock would probably would be rolling in his grave if his company made parts for imports.

I think headers and some electronics is it for the imports from elderbrock. If you want to upgrade your cams and lifters and springs and all Jim Wolf Technology my man. I am building a list of stuff from him to build my vg hopefully this fall, but I am looking at putting it in an older datsun or a 240sx because of the lack of suspension parts for our third gens. Actually I want to keep the maxima for a daily and make it better, but am dying for a play toy and want to build the vg up so I am probably going to buy another motor or a cheap junk one and completey rebuild bore sleeve and boost the $hit out of it. I know you guys got to know Joeboost, he uses JWT and praises them.

Motors do not need sleeved. Stock bottom ends have been known to hold 500hp mid 400s to be reliable all in the tune. I run schneider cams/springs with very good results. Im on 15psi daily motor stock besides heads.

No sleeves. These vg's can be bored significantly even. Wouldn't on boost, just saying. Mines bored 20 over. I bought the last set of oem 20 over pistons several years ago when I did my build. Not to say you can't find them elsewhere.
Go Schneider cams and springs. Go oem lifters. They are too cheap to not buy oem.
Buying a junk engine and building is a good idea. That's what I did. Just make sure you get the "w" block with the long crank snout or you'll be searching for another crank.

I've also heard Isky cams are pretty good. I believe Cmax has them in his car.

Yes isky is another popular cam in z31 community. Also russ adjustable cam gears are a must to get full potential out of cams

I remember one particular 1969 Dodge Charger that had a 440 with a Edelbrock "Tarantula" intake manifold.

Also had the Edelbrock Tarantula decal right below the Hurst shifter.

Had to be right around 1974 or 1975, the owner worked at a Gerbes grocery store.

There was a MFA service station in the parking lot, I remember looking the car over once when it was in there for service. That huge intake, the runners looking every bit the part of the spider they were named after. Had a double pumper on it, had to have a double pumper back then.

Pale yellow, black vinyl roof, aluminum slotted mags and those huge N50's on the back.

Headers, clean, very well done.

One day we were walking home from Jr high and notice that is had the stock wheels and hibcaps put back on it.

Day after, some cheezie Ford econobox was in the Chargers parking space, he traded it off, we walked to the dealers lot and saw it there and then it was gone........

There are a couple of companies that have cams and springs for the z31 engines. I have JWT springs and cams. Don't know how it will be because this weekend will be the first time starting it up since I rebuilt it. My head guy said it going to turn hard.. Can't wait..ya'll wish me luck on the start up this weekend.

Well how long was it down? Seems our 3rd gens are down for at least a year or more when they have to go down for repairs. I plan on finally driving mine regularly for the first time in 4 years this weekend. (full rebuild in and out) GL Let us know how it runs during and after break in.

Been down since Oct. After being my DD since 92 and 320k later the motor just was tired. All I've known is the max. She's coming out of a complete build from the ground up. The crazy thing is that I've had all my JWT items still in boxes since 02 when I thought I had the time to rebuild. Who does that! Well finally had the time and will soon have to opportunity to see what all the hard work was for. GL on your start up, and I hope all is well.

Heck me too! I've done that and many others have with buying parts but never installing. I know you've checked the classifieds. Thats how ppl sale brand new discontinued items they stop making 6-10 years ago. I've heard that after all of that if you paired your set up with a JWT ECU it turns it into a whole other car. Got me one!
