One headlight brighter than the other

Any suggestions as to why this happens. I have had this problem forever. Also, one side of my low beams always burns out before the other side. I usually end up just leaving them on high.

Thanks in advance,

Check housing alignment and voltage on each side. If there is a substantial difference in voltage, replace or rebuild your switch.

I've had headlights go dim before, and it's always been caused by a bad ground. I recently fixed a ground wire on my mom's Blazer headlight due to that. It was on, but it was dim.

wiring to connector is wrong or you have a frayed up light bulb connector harness!

When you say run a new ground to each bulb, do you mean splice the black ground on the back of the harness connector with a new ground wire and attach to chassis?

Have you swapped out the stock connectors for high temp connectors? I onow they are prone to melting and other issues. I swapped my to prevent any issues I might have. Maybe you could try this as an option. Probably gonna have to do so eventually. Better to know now then be surpised later.

You can start by using a couple quick splices on each bulbs ground wire, connecting them in parallel (Y), then connect the other end directly to the negative terminal on the battery.. This to confirm it's actually a bad ground, which I highly doubt it is. If that doesn't work, then look towards replacing the headlight switch.

Please don't call me Hector

No problem, JK about the Hector bit, I didn't even notice you corrected yourself.

If the test wire doesn't solve the problem, inspect the connector terminals for corrosion or damage before moving onto the switch. You can look up the correct ground point as well in the FSM. Look for the code next to the ground symbol in the headlight wiring diagram, then you look up the code in the layout in the back of the manual which will show the location.
