Anyone tried the new Philips XtraVision bulbs yet?

I saw them at Autozone, but they didn't have a price on them because they hadn't finished stocking the shelves with them. I'm running with Sylvania CoolBlues right now, and want to change if they're as bright as they APPEAR to be on the package.

xtravision

Read the package carefully it implies like 2x brighter but there web site and else where on the packaging it says 20 percent. I went with Silverstars much brighter then blues or the standard lighting. Liked em so much I bought another pair for my daughters altima. I believe theres still a sylvania 10 buck rebate on silver stars making them 30 bucks for the pair.

Do you like your Silverstars? Do they last a considerably nice amount of time or do they tend to fade out?

Since were on the topic has anyone seen the head lights that turn from purple to green as you pass? I wanted a pair and i'm not sure where to get them or if they're even safe to run with our stock wiring.

Hmmm? I don't think I've ever seen or heard of those? Must be a Chamellion painted light bulb!! LOL!! Umm? You might want to ask around, but, in my opinion, I'd think that they'd get pretty hot? I was running some blue Nokya's and they burnt up my harness!! So, I'd suggest you not go with them, but, like I said, thats my opinion. And before you go asking around, search before you do it otherwise you'll get flammed to death!! Good luck man!!

well considering my old Cool Blues were brighter than stock and then my Silverstars are brighter than the Cool Blues, I'd say yes I have not notice any fade in output since i installed them.

Yeah, I wouldn't think that they would be that bright at all? I think that they'd actually be quite dim? And I bet they charge a lot for those bulbs!!

I think the only thing that makes lighting illegal is color such as yellow head lights or having an HID system that doesn't have a high beam possibly. I don't care my HID's are brighter than most high beams, as long as you keep your high beams and the color of the bulb is white, I don't think you should have any problems

hmm i'm curious... since your HID kit is now brighter than your old highbeams, did u have to aim your headlights lower after installing your HID?

I didn't adjust them at all because they are perfect and both sides are even. Also they aim everywhere but they get the floor in a great way so I'm not planing on touching them. I will post pics soon.

Yeah soul fly Piaa's have a blue tint to the bulb but they give out a real white light.

I was wondering because of the potential hazard it may pose on a two-way street. Don't wanna blind the other dude on the other side coming at ya, know what I mean? Can't wait til the pics are up. I'm sure it looks sweet. I'm looking into Catz 9004 HID. Anyone have catz products and are satisfied with their performance ?

I will post pictures as soon as I can, I haven't been able to do it since I have been working. I went for a little drive tonight with my brother and he was driving his RX-7 and I was driving with him on the Long Island Expressway and there is this part where it is pitch black and wow, I could really appreciate the HID's on that road and my brother was very impressed with the appearance himself. Pictures will be up very soon. The kit I bought has the Hella German Ballast like BMW's and a Hella Bulb. The kit is called HID plus by SPW industries, they just put the kit together. Contact optionmotor@yahoo.com and include in the e-mail that, Diego from maxima.org recommended you and he should give you a good price. He also sells the kits in either white, blue or purple.

Wow...

Thanks for all the info, guys.

I was originally referring to the SilverStars. Since my car got hit, I haven't been around (kinda depressed about fixing on the Max until I get that dent fixed)

Anyway, if you guys think the SilverStars are worth the extra $$$ over the CoolBlues, then I might have to try them out.

Yellow lighting or a low color temp, will allow you to see better in fog, rain, snow, etc. Since water or water related precipitation ie, fog, rain, snow, is in the blue spectrum, blue light or whiter light will reflect or bounce off of each water droplet. Therefore making it harder for you to see where the light is shining on. Yellow light will not be reflected off the water droplets, therefore cutting though say fog and lets you see the ground. Those of you who knows about light filters, know what I'm talking about. That's why those blue lights suck in the rain. And that's why I have my reg Halogens in my fog lights because they work better in bad weather. And I have a set of ion yellows I'll be putting in pretty soon.

I would say if you know the color temp, go for ones around 2600k I think? Check http://www.autooptiks.com . I've got a pair of yellow ions from http://www.eautoworks.com/html/ord-L...ite-1-1543.htm I have to install them to see how they are.

I have the siverstars, I picked them up a couple weeks ago ($20/each from autozone). They are pretty good except for wet driving, you can't see a damn thing when the road is wet.

Wet = Rain Seriously when the road is wet, they do a really poor job of reflecting off the road surface.

Fosgat fan, I've been using Hella Yellow star 85 watt fog ligts for a long time now (a couple years at least) and they kick ****. Their cheap too, only around $12 each.
