So sad
Wow.... It's been awhile since I've been in here (sold mine in 2008) and I realize the newest of the 3rd Gens is 20 years old now, but 4 threads including this one? This used to be a bustling place. Still miss my 92 SE 5 spd. Still one of my favorite cars.

It is sad... These cars are dropping like flies. Not even two years ago you could always see one on the road (white gxe's at least), plus junkyards were full of nice ones to pluck parts off of. I would almost bet there were more of them sold than 4th gens, but now they are on the endangered species list.
This last time around I wanted a VE 5 speed in black with black leather and h ad to go all the way to New York to pick up a tired black on gray cloth one with all kinds of issues. (I did manage to find some black leather seats for it) I plan on seeing it through and fixing it up to be the nicest one yet though.

I rarely see one on the road anymore. There are only maybe 5 left in my town of about 12k people and there used to be 15 or 20.
There is a guy that moved on my route with a 91 SE 5-speed and he drove it with a bad rear wheel bearing until it caught fire, then he kept driving until it burned up like he was being chased by the cops -- except he wasn't, I guess he is just retarded.
He had it towed back to his place, so I took some pics and it kind of broke my heart to see a 3rd gen (especially a 5-speed) go down like that. He actually got it fixed, but the rear quarter is all fugged up.

I see tons of 3rd gens around here. Mine is getting very tired and starting to smoke. Poor thing. And yeah, the automatics get really boring... I wish I had the time, money, and ability to find the parts to do a 5 speed swap.
