Cruise control problems?
Folks,
I have a 91 Maxima with 85,000 miles. Yup... that's right. Since I bought the car last year, the cruise flucuates about 5 miles per hour and it drives me crazy. Is it normal? If this is not normal, how do I fix it. I tried tightening the cable, loosening the cable, took the unit apart to look for problems, but all appears to look fine. Please tell me if this is normal and if not... what's the fix!

One thing these CC are not good at is compensating for undulating roads. Going up a rise the CC tries to keep the set speed but as you reach the crest it will sometimes hold the throttle position a tad too long and sometimes you'll end up going faster than what you originally set. It will return to the set speed eventually.
If it is flat road and it goes up and down in speed by + or - 5 mph my pick would be the ASCD unit.
