Replacing speakers (non-bose) help...!

hey,

I'm trying to replace my 4 speakers, I have thea active speakers in the back, and already replaced the head unit. But my main problem is the rear speakers...I want 6x9, but they obviusly won't just slip right in, to replaced the 6.5s or whatever the stock ones are. I was wondering what the common suloution to this problem? I was just going to use a pair of tin snips, and cut away what metal is in the way...but I would rather not start cutting into my realitivly new car. Creig's website helped alot with the front speakers, I'm going to make the speakers brace in woodshop tomorrow =P....well, anyone who wants to help me, PLEASE reply! thanks

Woody

The easiest way is to get a Nissan 6x9 bracket.

It aint gonna work! Save yourself the trouble! Look under the speakers via the trunk. If they are 6.5" ones, then that's all that's gonna fit. Nothing else. If they are 6x9's, then go get some 6x9's. Trust me, I encountered this problem. You're lookin at a whole TON of custom work to get the speakers to fit on there. The grooves in the metal are too shallow and small and the screw holes are in the wrong spots (which reminds me, if the screw holes form a square, you have 6.5's, if it's a rectangle, then they're 6x9's).

Go get some 6.75's or "oversized" 6.5's. The screw holes are really wack in the max. I got some oversized 6.5's and they fit pretty well. 6.5's are too small. Trust me, I just replaced my speakers over the summer, and I made the mistake of trying to make some 6x9's fit.

I thought only the 91's had 6.5's in the rear. Mabye you have them too. Oh well. Just get what I told you to.

yeah, their are 6.5s in the back...but it doesn't look like it would be that hard to slip away a few aquare inches of metal, and then screw some new poilet holes for the new 6x9, then plop it right into place...I know I can;t be the first one to think of that...so, their has to be a problem with it...HAS to be..other then you are cutting into your car with tin snips...

thanks gamezilla
