Getting a VQ30DE vs VE VTC Clack

Ok, this has been asked over and over again I'm sure, but I have to ask because it seems that the VTC error is not a fixable one. I read how people ground the solenoids, replace and rebuild them, but it seems to return at some point, or act up in cold weather. I cant deal with that. I have the VE engine and the car has been having the VTC issue for about a year and a half. I haven't driven it at all because it's too loud. I thought it was a lifter or valve so I was just gonna buy another VE engine from Tigerdirect. Im just now reading about how common this VTC issue is so I may just keep the engine. For all the experts reading this, my question is this; How did they resolve the VTC problem in the 94 VE engine, and in the VQ30DE? Also, I know that the swap to the VQ30DE wont make much of a difference, but at least I wont have to worry about the dreaded "VTC clack". How hard of a swap is that? (The VQ35 swap is too much work and too much money which is why I wont entertain that idea). So... any answers, comments, ideas?

The VQ does not have VTC's. So that's how they solved it there.

IIRC, speculation was larger oil galleys on the '94 model.

No reason you can't put a VQ into your car if you're hellbent on it. But as the old interwebz smackdown goes: if you have to ask how to do it you're probably incapable of doing it.

I still believe you either have a non-VTC issue and/or if your VTC's are making all that noise after grounding then you are unlucky enough to be in a very uncommon situation - as in your situation is an anomaly.

Labor wise, there's no difference between swapping a VQ30 and VQ35. Regardless of which path you take, you will need to find the engine, trans, mounts, harness, ECU and other parts along with modifying the crossmember.

As James mentioned, the VQ30 doesn't have VTC, but I believe the VQ35 have a continuous VTC, which could have a more rugged design than the VE (don't quote me on this).

I see. Maybe i'll give it one more shot and will get a used JDM VE. I seen some online for $600 plus S&H with 30-40k miles. I think I'll go that route, which is probably the cheapest for now
