Looking for picture of CPS to compare for aligning mine for timing.

Hello all,

I've been a member of this forum about 10 years ago but I don't remember my previous account or anything to restore it. Anyways, I've parked the Maxima mostly off than on, but recently am getting it back to an almost daily driver. Once it warms up a bit I will be doing a full tune up.

What I am looking for hopefully is a picture of someones CPS so I can compare it to mine for timing. I don't have a timing gun and don't want to pay a shop. I remember way back when someone had a picture of theres so I could compare the spacing in the bolts to determine the position to place it in. I've fiddled with it since then and want to know about where everyone else is running there's. If I remember correctly, if standing on driver side facing CPS, there should be like 5mm of space on the top of the right bolt, if that makes sense.

1992 Maxima SE, VE30DE auto. Mods suchs as warspeed y-pipe, ASP lightened pulley, CAI, etc.

Here's mine. I tried about 10 different angles and coulter get a real good angle due to having no room with the charge piping and downpipe and stuff. This is exactly at 15 degrees. As you can see on the radiator side, it's at having no visible "clearance". On the firewall side there is some noticeable clearance, which sounds about how you described it.

You're the man James! Thanks a bunch that's exactly what I was looking for. I wish I had the problem of having a turbo set up in my way .

Now if IRC, rotating the CPS clockwise advances timing and counter-clockwise retards it, correct? I think I have mine advanced a bit more than I should. I do run 92oct and put a new knock sensor in some few years back.

Off to the store for some new fuel injection hose to fix a leak on the passenger side rail.

Thanks again!!
