So...
I kind of forgot to put oil in my 91 gxe and I totally toasted my engine. And to not destroy my savings I thought about an engine swap.
So really how hard would it be to swap a new engine in?

Ouch. ****ty man - I won't give you **** (but others will certainly do so) since the cost and time investment to make it right is certainly punishment enough.
As far as putting an identical motor in it, not really that hard, wiring is the worst of it. If you have an actual lift to use, dropping the crossmember and transaxle/motor assembly is the fastest and easiest way to swap them out.

Villager and Quest VG30E are the best to swap in, non-interference VG30E
engine swaps arent overly bad, but every one ive done ive had a hoist and air tools at work for my disposal. stuff like subframe bolts etc would kinda suck without an air ratchet
assuming youre taking the trans with it, basically, you get trim crap out of the way like the air filter box etc. then unplug all the wiring harnesses and fuel lines. drain the coolant and oil, unbolt the motor mounts and anything else holding down the engine, hook up an engine crane, and yank it out. if youre leaving the trans in, you have to remove the bellhousing bolts and install something to hold the trans
just make sure to organize your bolts and whatnot, first few engine/transmission swaps i did i just threw all of the nuts and bolts in a bucket and christ did i regret it. now i organize the bolts on different parts of the garage at work, at home i organize them in Ziploc bags and label them
just curious how you forgot to put oil in the engine though lol
