what do you guys think

I really hate how high the shifter sits. Do you think it's a good idea to pull it out and cut a inch or so of the middle and weld it back up? They don't sell short shifter right?

Just cutting the shifter arm itself will make it more notchy, but if you just want literally a lower shifter then by all means go for it. If you want a true "short throw" shifter you must change the location of the shifter arm ball.

IIRC a 4th gen short shifter fits the 3rd gen fine or with very little modification. At least back in the day that was the case. I used to have one but got rid of it because of how notchy it was.

i HIGHLY recommend you don't cut and weld something this critical. do a search...people on the forum tried heating up the ball and moving it up BUT doing too much will rub on the exhaust.

The shifter is at the height it is for a reason. So you can shift in comfort.
