Possibly a very dumb question but here goes. So i need new CV axles and so i went ahead and bought the pass. side but parts guy asked me if my car has LSD or not for auto trans. So how do i know if my car came with LSD or not? Obviously im using my auto CV axles with my 5speed trans.

 

Why are you using auto axles? Vg 5 speed trans is non lsd. Ve 5 speed trans is lsd.

 

Ive always used the auto axles since i did the conversion almost 10 years ago and i was on a budget so the axles stayed and have worked fine since then. I thought the VE 5spd is VLSD? But my original question is are the VG autos LSD?

 

No, the VG was not LSD (well to the best of my knowledge). All 92 to 94 VE 5 speeds were all LSDs. If you are using auto axles with a 5 speed you do not have LSD.

 

I do have a good LSD 5 spd ready to sell to anyone interested...Was on a VG but from a VE originally!

 

Apparently non-LSD VE's do exist but I've never seen one or heard of anybody on the forums over the years having one. But again they did/do exist evidently
