Hi Guys...

I had the passenger side axle cv boots replaced ... however while driving freeway speeds... i can hear a vibration noise intermitant...comming from area near the right front tire. Didn't have that noise before...and now wondering if its related to the recent replacement of the axle cv boots where the axle had to come out. Grease seals where replace at the time.

Your thoughts input appreciated...Thanks in advance...

 

did you put the axle nut crowns back on??

i found that when i replaced my axle i had a faint tinging noise which in fact turned out the be the crown for the axle nut was just flopping around.



the noise was very faint could only hear with windows down...



i removed said crown and ran with out... problem solved i am now starting to hear it again... wheels off today notice other side crown is coming loose and again likely what i am hearing.

try that?

Bad heel bearing, vibration is causing it to back out.

 

I'd make sure your tire is properly balanced, maybe one of the balancing weights came off. More than likely it's something with cv axle since work was done in there , I'd go over everything I touched.
