Lost all power to ecu.

Well I Lost all power to ecu. Everything in cabin lights windows etc work. Checked all fuses chassis grounds even tried spare engine harness. Ecu does not light up have confirmed no power to pin 58. Also key on check engine light doesn't even light up which also confirms not getting power. Any ideas? Only thing I can think of is an anti theft issue.

Almost sounds like you have the same type of thing going on as Tony

I assume you already unplugged your alarm box deal?

Yes Ive unplugged the anti theft. Ive tripped the alarm etc all seems to work as should. I did run a new 12v wire to pin 16 on the ecu no go. So has to be ground to ecu. Also noticed cant hear the eccs relay click at all when turn key on. Has power to eccs relay.

Ok, I don't really like Chilton/Haynes manuals. Never enough information. I have a Nissan FSM. I will post the information soon.

Ya very strange that car was running one day then came out next and it was fried. I had to of sparked something I do remember fixing a wire on the altenator around that time but Im pretty sure I had the battery out for that. Should be seeing boost again very soon.

Does this mean we'll get an update to your thread in the boost section?

Im addressing a clutch issue right now. I suppose I should update my thread as the setup is complete beside running the exhaust back of the downpipe. I have had the car running just addressing a clutch issue before can tune.

While I've never personally experienced this issue, i have an idea. The Nistune board, which is much larger than the simple eeprom it replaced isn't as secure. Nistune uses hot glue in an attempt to keep the board from moving, but I do remember reading in the documentation that you should check that the board is properly seated if any power issues are suspected.
You just need to remove the 4 screws that cover the TOP (removing the bottom cover will do you no good) and the 2 for the daughter board and you can see the board.

Yes, and so does Nistune when they do the install yet they recommend you verify the board hasn't come lose if you have a problem with power to the ecu. Hot glue is far from permanent

Its weird how it randomly took a crap. I know I checked the board back when it first stopped working but was all good. I ran the ecu 8 years first time ever quit. Just hope my daughter board is still good. Find out soon.
