Thanks wings....I lived in NYC and they never allowed peeps in the yard...You went to the counter and the counterman would never go and look for small items....Now i am in Palm Desert and i have yet to see a junkyard...

hold on...
you still have the factory floor mats and they are not total crap? LOL

congrats on keeping them in the time capsule. it's more or less a "L" shaped hook that's screwed on the bump in the floor. if you're totally stuck i'm sure you can figure something out with a trip to home depot.

Mine are in surprisingly good shape after 30 years and 375k. Real thick carpet, embroidered and stitched edges. When we bought a 17 Camry, the factory $200 floor mats were just fuzz and cheap foam backing.

they don't make them like they used to.

the rubber tends to break down and the nubs fall off. over time the maxima embroidering wears out too.

Or go the Weather Tech route...I got lucky and was able to find some WeatherTech style rubber mats from a Local dealer in Houston, TX. that can hold about 2 quarts of liquid and were Factory issued mats with Nissan Maxima Logo'd on it! Laser fitted with the hole for the carpet retaining clip to protrude through and man these are the best mats ever!

Last time I went to pull-a-part I grabbed em off the two there. I'm going to continue trying to save the little stuff whenever go. I feel like it's better to save things as I find them, than to leave it for someone else and it possibly never get saved...
PM if you want me to ship them
