This is what happpens...

My dad was driving my Max for the past 4 years and kept putting off on changing the timing belt when it was time to do so about 3 years ago. Last week and about 20K+ miles past the change interval later, he got stranded in the road and got it towed to the garage. The tensioner went out and did this much damage.

PSA: Be on time with your maintenance!

That's what I suggested, I highly doubt he would go for one LOL.
So in the meantime, I looking through threads to see what else to do to the future donor engine. I'm also reading up on VGE33 to see how much work is required.

The tensioner bolt failed. Gotta replace everything or you're rolling the dice, water pump so it doesn't develop a leak and oxidize and degrade the bolt. I'm at 80k and 8 years, and really the only motivation I have for a timing belt change is so I have an excuse to replace all my seals and forget about this oil leak I've had for a couple years.

The engine is fine, get some new heads, replace any damaged pistons and put it back on the road.

Nope, the tensioner bearing failed.

I didn't take a photo of it, but there is some damage to the cylinder wall that you can feel with your finger. I'll take a photo when I head back to my dad's garage to get your guys' opinion if the engine is still good.
