Maxima 1989 - Failure to accelerate

I have a 1989 Nissan Maxima that is giving me many problems when I accelerate, as once it exceeds 3,000 RPMs, it starts to cut out intermittently and I don't know what it is.

This issue starts after revving the engine above 4,000 RPMs. It doesn't happen immediately, but after two or three days, it starts to show this problem.

The issue stops happening after using it for several weeks, but I am limited to not exceeding 4,000 RPMs, which is very difficult because I live in an area with many steep slopes and it is quite likely that one day I will exceed 4,000 RPMs, causing the problem to recur.

This is the fourth time this has happened to me.

Another detail is that, as days go by using it, the issue occurs at lower and lower RPMs.

I would appreciate your help

When is the last time the distributor cap and rotor were checked/changed out?

It was replaced a month ago, thinking that was the problem, but it continued having the same issue

Hmmm have you tried testing the mass air flow and checked how good the spark is?

Had identical issue! Found cold solder joints in the MAF sensor. Cut the cover open and find the wires from the connector going into the circuit board. Just resolder these. I sealed the sensor with duct tape and it's been working for years like that.
