No start

1990 GXE auto
Funny thing happened yesterday.
Went to the mall, about an hour later it wouldn't start.
Started good, sounds good, just not catching.
Tried it 3 times.
Waited for about 10 minutes, tried again, and it started.
Ran fine like normal.
Drove it home without any problem.
Only thing I noticed is the speedo needle, when driving, won't go back to idle.
Let it sit for an hour, and it started right up.
I'm thinking a dying fuel pump relay.
The printing on the relay box cover is all worn away.
Where can I find a picture of it, so I can see which relay is what???
Any other suggestions????

I've seen failing distributors cause those symptoms as well, when the engines warm the contacts in the distributor heat up and break connection causing a crank no-start when heatsoaked, when the engine cools a bit the connections join back together and let the car start

but it can be many things that cause this, when driving what does the speedo needle do? just sit dead?

I did change the distributor about 3 years ago.
It was a rebuilt and was so cheap.
It did have the original one in it.
It starts a "0"then it goes up like normal, but doesn't come back down to "0".
When I turn off the engine, it goes back to "0".
It drives fine.

it can be a number of things, first have you have your battery and starter tested, take it to your local parts store like autozone or O'Reilly's see if they can test it, they are free services. Before you start chasing down issue with distributor and other parts .

I did test the battery, and it's strong.
Everything is working fine now.
Just started it and didn't drive it.
Have some spare relays, so I'll put them in the car.

Checked it and I think the fuel pump is just getting old.
We have that useless ethanol in the gas here, and it caused all kinds of problems.
I'll just change the pump and strainer.

Changed the fuel pump.
Seems to run much better.
Filter was not clogged or dirty.
Had to lower the idle speed a tiny bit.
