I WON! ok pulling out of the toll booth we both pulled out at the same time, the ******** cuts me off cause i wasn't on the gas like he was, as soon as he does i'm like oh whatever, but he flips me the bird, like it was my fault. Can't have that now. so the road closes to a single lane, then to the onramp, and away we go. So we come down the offramp, i'm in 3rd at about 70mph. The lil BMW cans it so i figure what the HE!! i'm gonna see what he'll do. so i can it too, shifted inot 4th around 97-98ish, just under redline. pulled into the left lane. i gained on him pretty steadily, shifted into 5th around 120. by this time i'm pulling ahead of him by about a door lenght. at about 135 he pulls back, which is good cause my max won't break 140. I'm not sure if the Bmer will, but i ended up bein about a carlength ahead of him when we eased off. I didn't think i did too bad considering he had a huge jump on me, his Bmer looked brand new. Nice blue color though. anyway, i wasn't incredibly proud, i've beat BMW's straight line before, but i have yet to see a maxima outcorner one. oh well. maybe modded.

Uhhh...Not to sound mean or anything, but where the hell did you find enough smooth, straight, flat road to go that fast? Do you realize how much straight, level road it takes for the max's to go over 120mph? I'm assuming you have a 92-94 SE with the VE engine? Otherwise that "roadkill" story is impossible.

yup got a VE, and it was on the turnpike, hence the tollbooth part. It's very possible and actually my max is pretty peppy above 120. it's suprising. but hey, untill you own one, you wouldn't really know.. I've had it to just under 140. never gotten over.

I also raced a bimmer once(325i as a matter of fact also) on the highway and we were even for a while doing about 125 -130 right next to eachother then I eased off cause my crappy stock suspension was scaring the sh*t outta me. But it is very possible to go that speed and way beyond too.

Turnpikes are straight FOREVER...jesus, when I was in Flordia...it was the same scenery for hours. ;p Maxima paradise ;p

325's arent that fast though... my mom has an 01' 325 convertible and the thing runs an 8.9 0-60. i could burn her in my VG. it is auto, but even the manual is 8.6. of course it te convertible with extra wieght, but i think the regular coupe isnt much faster, still in the 8's. hella cool car though, i love cruisin in it.

but if you were really racing...with equal mods and everything, same starting position etc...the bimmer would anally r*pe your max. lol but heck, a modded VE can give even a 325 a run for it's money.

my pops just got his bmw 325ci and we raced. i spanked him. i dont know if he let me but i have bragging rights now. ha ha ha.

I live in florida and he is right this is maxima heaven I've taken my gexe all the way up to 125 and I don't think it took that long to get up there

i dunno, i've raced an auto 325i with an intake and chip and i won. this was right off the line. It was my buddy aaron's. i have a video, but i don't know how to put it into electronic form, post it, etc. it's cool. it's taken from my buddie's prelude who was behind us.

Woo hoo.. I'm new to this forum.. Glad to be around other Maxima owners.. Usually hang out at speedmagazine.com but they argue so much.. Domestic Vs Import, VTEC vs Nissan, etc... Good job showing that BMW that an older car still has some kick in it.. Got up to 140 once racing this Integra.. Well he was trying. It was an LS I think with a body kit from hell.. He gave up at 115 or so and I just kept on going.. Good run..

hehe...I got my *** KICKED royally by an NSX-T today ...Don't ask. I don't even know what the hell I was thinking!?!?! That's my war story for the day. I was kissing his *** from the start. After about 110, he was gone. The only cool thing about this was that when I finally gave up, down the road a cop had pulled him over as I just went by "crusin".

This was on "80 West" (Highway/Interstate 80 west)
