ever since i bought my car i noticed that it seems to have less power when the gas tank is less than half full. also when i was driving witht the cruise control on, right when the tank hit halfway the rpms dropped slightly and the speed went down about 5 mph. does anyone know if the fuel pump or the regulator drops fuel pressure or something when the gas tank drops below halfway?

 

Usually it's the opposite.. my car would make a lot more power (large diff.. like 10-15hp!) between about 1/3 tank and "almost E"..


as for fuel pressure and stuff, that's something you should be able to see if you hook up a gague.. but it's not supposed to change based on the level of fuel in the tank..
