Something is Wrong Please Help

Something is Wrong Please Help

I have a problem a friend of mine just got a 91 Max and he has just got a new turning belt and tensioner .. the car cranks and all the belts are movind as supposed too ....but the distributor rotor is not moving... when ya open the distributor cap the rotor is stuck...

What can Be the PROBLEM??? Please Help me with this one .........

ASSUMING he just didn't snap the belt again, I'd say the dist. gear just broke or is jammed.

now this "friend" or yours, he wouldn't by any chance be thinking of turboing his max too would he...

LOL No!!!.. another question ... is the distributor gear and the cam all one piece because in the book it looks like one peice??

No they are not. I've never seen a car that had a dist/cam as one non-disconnectable unit.

Oops...

I am sorry to hear that but it sound like you going to need a new engine for sure my friend. I am willing to bet that your engine is cranking over very fast and it sound like it has no compression what so ever...
