Do you think 245/40/17 would be a little to big?

I don't want rubbing or tire too far out of wheel well. I have 17X7.5 rims. I was also thinking of putting 225/45/17 in the rear an the 245/40 in front for max traction? Any one have pics of 245s on a max

What are doing? Drag racing down every street? Other than having it look kinda funny with wider tires in the front, what's the point? It will disrupt the handling. Except for better traction for straight line performance, the better traction will probably make the understeering maxima understeer even more. You like plowing though life? hehe And 245-40-17 is too small diameter-wise. Whether or not the tire will fit is pretty much 100% dependant on your rim specs in terms of offset and width

Yeah Now that you slapped some since in too me I think I will just do what I was originally going to do. Get 235/40s all corners. Yes I do drag race streetlight to streetlight. I also have been riding around on 205/40s and love it

personally if you're gonna go 245's i would go with an 8" wide rim. i dunno if they'll fit under the fenders though. i'm going with 17x8" rims with 235 45's . ..

I had 245/50/15 on my stock rims. I loved them, they stuck to the road so good. They did rub when you turned all the way, but beside that i was able to run them. The sidewall stuck out a few inches but it looked good.

Mr.Rose had 245/45 tires for a while on his Mustang rims, but I think he had rubbing problems once in a while (heavy load and a bump in the road). I imagine that would be his tire hitting the top of the strut in the back (that's usually what gets close). Since that was with the Mustang rims and their 30/32mm offset, I would probably stick with 235 tires for your Modas, which have 35mm offset. Just to be safe. Besides, getting same sized tires front to back will allow you to rotate them.

As far as I know, no one has ever used 245 tires successfully.
ps, let me know how they work out so I can buy with confidence!
