Who's got an aftermarket Sunroof?
#3
I have one>>>>
For the past 4yrs I always wanted to get one, I've been debating over and over, did alot of homework, check many installers in my area (wasn't hard since there was only two) My previous car I had a pop up roof installed and after a couple of years it started to rust and leak. Anyway I said "why not" go ahead. This may not be the best "bang for your buck" mod, but in my eyes it the best bang for "my" buck. I couldn't have been more happier after it was installed. I cant remember the brand name, but most installers use the same brand which is a company in Germany. It has one touch open and close, if a object place in the way while it's closing it will automatically re-open, and if I leave the roof open and turn the key off it will close automatically without hitting the button (I like that feature, pretty cool walking away from your ride and watching the roof close) Anyway I'm digressing, I paid 1K for the install which included entire new head linear even in all 6 pillar posts. Enjoy

we put aftermarket roofs in where I work. the company is called ASC and they make almost all the sunroofs out there. even stock sunroofs. it will cost anywhere from 700-1200 depending on what model you get. and you will get a new headliner too. and they are good sunroofs

I had one put in mine when i bought it. It had everything but the roof and since they quoted me and said specifically that it had one i held them to it!! I can research and find out but it was through sebasto sunroofs(?). It has a lifetime warranty and haven't had any leaks or probs now for 2 years! I think your safe with one with a good warantee.

there are cheaper ways to get one...
Last year some dude at school put a sunroof in his Taurus, everything cost him about 550$ or even less, not sure, but he bought a used sunroof assembly from a junkyard. Just ask around, I think a privately owned, smaller shop is a cheaper place to get this done, make sure they do quality work though, don't want the thing leaking and ****.
You can also save some $ by getting a non-power roof, but those suck.
Yo Candiman, I thought the sunroof was standard on all SE Maximas along with the spoiler? You should have had 1 stock, like me

local customizing shop
Custmizing COnnections...I have seen them there for $350-$550 I think the $350 one is just a pop up... This also includes they're iunstallation and they do real good work form what I ahve seen. I am sure you can get one for less then $1000...May not have the gadget that ahs it close when you turn it off, but on my list thats not a big deal.

Hey NYCe, I wish they WERE standard with the SE's. I've got a '92 that didn't come with one. But I think they were an option, though. But block, how much do you guys charge for one? I could probably drive there, if the price was right. But I'll probably be like Matt and save up to get one in the summer (I just bought a new engine, for Pete's sake!!).

Ahh matt>>>
If you want an aftermarket sunroof.. I can hook you up .. the guy I work with (aka Porsche parts guy) has like 5 or 6 of those things.. I'm not sure on the sizes.. but they are all brand new and unused (of course).. I'm sure he'd part with one pretty cheap... ...

Sunroof
My Maxima came with a sunroof from a different company than the factory uses. The reason is that the switch location is different than outlined in the manual. The sunroof is made by Hollandia and I have had pretty good luck with it.

Got one
I have a genuine Nissan sunroof which was put in the vehicle after it was bought. I am not sure how much it costs since the previous owner did it. It works great, sometimes when it's open I hear some rattling but it's nothing major.
One time I didn't close it all the way and went through a car wash...that wasn't fun so watch out!
