bulb wattages

what does 100/80 watt correspond to? is it 100 w low beam and 80 w for the highs? the xenon hid look a likes also say 100/80 or 80/100. but i am not sure why they list the two. does that mean they can handle both 100 and 80 w?

the lower number is low beam...you want more power for high beam.
and if the bulbs have 2 wattages listed it is a dual filament bulb like the normal lights for a maxima (9004).

Read the bulb packaging because some have 2 numbers on them but it will say something like 80W= 100W which means they are saying that their 80w bulb shines like a 100w bulb.

awsm66, your lights came out amazing. How big of a project was it to do the conversion and how much do you think it cost?

Thanks, I spent a good part of a day cutting and shaping and adjusting. Cost will vary depending on if you can get a set of lights cheap.

I have about $200 in everything Wiring,lights,e36 lights.

Do you have part sources and a pricelist?

I got the lights from the for sale board for 140 shipped with apc superwhite bulbs and all of the wires. I upgraded my wiring harness because the bulbs he sent me were 80w. I got the harness from here and they are great quality and the hookup was simple.

When I was going to do this I did searches on google and also on this board and found several different prices...so try that.

Here is a link to a how to on installing the lights.

You should be able to come up with a lot of stuff if you research this board and others.

Good luck.
