12/92 GXE, 93 model, electrical door locking works only occasionally.
It either works for all 4 doors or it doesn't work at all.
Same effect whether using button/switch or pushing down pop-up door lock control.
I hear a click, so I believe switch/circuit is OK and Relay is the problem.


1. Where is the relay and how do I get to it?
2. Is the relay the most likely cause, given the symptoms?

I have not had trouble with mine, but I did have to replace the relay for the window opening circuit. did you do a search on the org yet!!
I'm not sure if the relay for the door lock solenoid is located in the same location, but it is probably under the key pad in the door.

 

I can be almost 100% sure it is your door lock timer. That is exactly what happend to mine, so I did a search. The timer is located underneath your steering column on the right side. It is a little box about the size of 2 decks of cards. Remove the box and pull out the circut board. On the bottom of the board are many small solders. Look for ones that are cracked or "not shiney" anymore. Re-solder those connections. This is how I fixed mine, and how countless of people on this forum have fixed theirs. Good Luck
