hey guys. i have been running nokya arctic whites with an APC rewire harness for awhile. it looked pretty good but one of my bulbs has blown. don't know why but it did. those bulbs sucked. now i'm wondering what you guys would reccomend as a replacement. with my upgraded harness i can handle up to 85 watts and 105 for high beams. i was thinking of some PIAA bulbs. what do you guys use?

don't you lose high beams though?

i have teh PIAA upgrades. They're white instead of yellow and look great. They are also much brighter. the only thing that i don't like about them is their performance in the rain. Everyone with PIAA's has said the same thing, they sometimes just suck in the rain. I'm not sure why this is. anyway, i bought em from dex for 20 bucks so you can't beat that they're normally like what? 80 or something?

low beams - really really really white w/ a tint of blue; farther away you are from the lights the bluer they look

high beams - bluer than anything else ive seen; get plenty of people to flash their lights at me just w/ the regular beams, when i have the highs on ill get flashed 8 out of every 10 cars.

i got a harness for em too, cuz they're 100/80

They look like factory Altima wheels. Not a bad look.

Check out my signature for what I got....

I can't remember what they are, but they look tight! They're filled with Xeon gas that simulates those pure white HID bulbs you see on the Lexus's, New Maximas, etc. I bought them at Pep-Boys for ~$30 and I've loved them!

Go to PepBoys and look in the Rice Section. They're made by 3A Racing. $30 bucks, and best of all they're STOCK WATTAGE. Nice pure white with a tint of blue in them. I'm very impressed with them. Going on a year now of having them

they came off of my friend's 95 maxima gle. they were a factory option for a couple years, but not many cars had them. he got new rims and we figured those would look good on my car. i am really pleased with them.

thanks for the suggestions on the lights, i think i might check out those ones from pep boys. since i already have the upgraded harness, i want to get some higher wattage bulbs though. probably some PIAA bulbs. i still want to check into those pep boys bulbs though.

thanks again,
matt

PIAA's all the way. They do cost more but I haven't seen anything that is brighter. And if put them in the fogs too they look amazing.

Sorry to bust your bubble but, those all "HID" bulbs are filled with .0005% xenon gas, and the only reason they are blue is because of the outside glass thats been tinted blue.

other than that its just a ricey bulb

Xeon "Rice" Bulbs

FYI the bulbs are blue and they do contain Xeon gas in them. When my lights are off, the whole headlight has a blue tint to it and it looks awsome.

with the bimmer lights, I have PIAA Superwhites on the outside with the PIAA "this light is legal in all 50 states" sticker placed above the radiator brace above both sides. in the inside lights, or the high beams, I have some ricer blue lights that really light up the freakin' road pretty darn good. I like this set up cause I have completely legal stuff to use for everyday use and then the illegal and crazy blue stuff for when I wanna show off or when I wanna see more stuff when the road is clear up ahead...

Pretty fun!!!

lord, do you know why your headlamp has a tint of blue when they are off?

hmm lets think for a minute, its because the glass on the blub is blue!

harness on eBay, bulbs at any of hundreds of websites...

www.autotoys.com has a ton of stuff, i've found it tends to be kinda pricey. either way i tend to get most of my stuff from eBay if i can find it.

i totallly lost what he was trying to say. from what i read he was trying to say that his headlamps had a tint of blue when turned off..

now how does that prove his theory that rice bulbs have xenon gas in it?

Back to school for you buddy

Alrighty, I guess I have to spell it out for you. My lights have Xeon gas in them. My lights have a blue bulb. You still with me? When my lights are on, they are bright white. When my lights are off, the natural light hits the blue bulb creating a blue glow. I know that had to be hard, but I think in time you'll....hire a tutor to help you read it and so forth. Good day!

You know, they funny thing is, I could say schiznit any you'd probably understand me perfectly. Another lesson in Ebonics!

what the hell are you trying to say?

you have riceboy bulbs, they're coated blue and they make riceboy light. what more do you need to argue?

and furthermore, "Xeon" does NOT exist.

One clue is the type of car. As mentioned at the top of this message, there are only very few models at this time in North America being offered with the arc-discharge headlamp system, and all of them are top-end/luxury models. If you spot the characteristic purplish-blue light color coming from an everyday-joe type of car, you've found the illegal bulbs.
i have an everyday joe type of car, and i have real HID :(

the guy who wrote that FAQ knows quite a bit about lighting, but he isn't a definite source either. his site is also getting outdated
