unless the VG was swapped in place of the VE that originally came with it...but who the hell would want to swap a VE for a VG???

Check your speedometer. If it goes to 145mph then you have a VE. If it goes to 125mph then you have a VG which probably means you have a 92 GXE.

weird I have never heard of such...one last question...does the white part of the tail light go all the way around the side of the car and is the center part on the trunk blacked out or is it a red at all.

Then it is probably a mistake on the title or something because the 92 had a red center (its blacked out but not completely like the 89-91)

That is strange that its wrong though.

yeah it's probably a 91SE and not a 92...you have all the options of an 89-91 SE with the VG, 125mph gauges and the rear like mine etc etc

yeah, sounds like 91SE maybe a very late one or something

no big deal though, those are still very nice as well and will last forever

for anyone else wondering, the differences on SE vs. GXE and 1989-1991 vs. 1992-1994 are on my how-to page with pics

Yeah but I wouldn't be going around telling people you have 92 SE. If they knew about maximas, they would look at you funny and mumble behind your back.. especially if your at a Maxima Meet.

Check the grille

The easiest way to tell a '91 from a '92 is the grill. The 89-91's have the NISSAN emblem in the lower right-hand corner of the grille.

The 92-94 have the "hamburger" emblem in the center. Unless of course you're like me, and switched grilles to add that extra 30 HP

ON a side note I have never heard of a 1992 SE VG, but sometimes when I buy timing belt related parts, I get questions about what month my car was made in, implying that there may be some 1991 SE VE's out there.
