weird ticking noise

weird ticking noise
when i start my car i can hear this ticking noise coming from under the hood. i've tryed to find what was making it but i cant figure out what it coming from. but the strange thing about it is when i drive it down the road the noise will stop. so if anybody knows what might be making this noise and how i could possibly fix it, i would really appreciate it.

It is the VTC...Pretty common on the VE30DE I am sure of it, same symptoms. You can ground them, and they will be quite, but you will loose a little power. Or just let them tap. Go here http://autos.werd.com/dmontzmax/MCC%...Canyon/Movies/ Then go to whatisthatsound tell me if it sounds like that.

the ticking sound
i hear a ticking sound after i turn the car off, i heard that, that sound is from the oil filter and just to get another type of filter, do you think that this could be a problem with the engine instead
