Max keeps putting along

My 92 Maxima SE has been sitting for a couple of months when i finally flew back this week to rescue it. Well, my dad put some fuel injector cleaner in it a week or two ago, as did I two days ago, since i knew they would be dirty from sitting. Well, i was driving it down the road for the first time in about a month and it was fine for the first 10 minutes, then it started, well, putting. I had my foot on the pedal and it would cut out for a second and come back then do it again 4-5 more times, then stop. Well, my dad said it was probably dirty fuel injectors and just trying to get the dirt through. Well, i've been driving it around non-stop for three days(changed all oils, fluids, plugs) and it's still doing it. My dad bought a brand new throttle position sensor a couple months back because it went bad, so we are pretty sure it's not that?????? Need help, gotta get out of Tennessee and back to Florida.

Re: Max keeps putting along

My car has this same problem, but not as severe. In the past 2 weeks, I have had this happen only twice. Under normal acceleration, the car would stop accelerating just like you took your foot off the gas for one second and then applied it again. I have never used any fuel treatments before. I have just always used good name brand gas (89 and 93 octane). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If your car has been sitting for some months without using any fuel stabilizer, use a high octane fuel to "shock" it back to normalcy. Fuel goes bad over time if unused.
