I ordered black floormats for my max and,,,

I go to pick them up. They said nissan stopped making them in black. I was so upsett soi I got a refund

i got mine from the local nissan dealer just recently, they still make them.

They said they only make dark charcol now but not black

Not true, i would go and get them for you just too busy. i got them at koeppel nissan in queens, NY

they quit making them quite a while back. what you can buy at dealers is the stock still left in warehouses.
Tan has been unavailable for quite a while now.

I just order a luxury set from weathertech but I wish I bought OEM. I will probably get them custom embroided. Should I just do the basic Maxima oem style?

it's all a matter of preference.. I like the stock ones, and you certainly can't go wrong with those. buy something else and you always run the risk of hating it and you can't send it back just because you don't like it! (the entire world isn't wal-mart!)
