Confused about JWT ECU
Ok, here is the info from www.cattmanperformance.com :
"Big boost in hp/torque up to about 5k rpm, removes speed limiter, raises rev limiter from 6.5k to 7.0k. Reprogramming on daughterboard. Stock ECU can be sent in for direct modification or exchanged w/ a core charge of $500 for 89-94 OBD1 ECUs. Upgraded ECU sent from JWT, working original unit returned after installation (w/in 15 days) for credit of core charge. No core charge if customer’s ECU is sent in for upgrade."
The price beside all this info says $ 565.
So what is the price if you send in your ECU to JWT for "direct modification"?

the core is just charged to you in case you dont return your ecu...after you return your ecu they will refund the core charge of $500.
Look at it like this they will charge you $1065 if they send you a ecu but will credit back $500 when they receive yours back.
but if you send them yours to program there will be no core charge and you will just be charged $565

Re: Confused about JWT ECU
I read that to say, If you send your own ECU in it will cost $565.
If you DON'T send your ECU in, they will charge a "core fee" or a deposit of sort. This is a $500 fee. They will send a ECU, and you must send in your old one. When they get it they will refund the $500. Up front cost is $1065.

o, so either way, it's pretty expensive I think I might wait until there is no mods left for me to do before I get it.

So you send it in and tell them what mods you have and the program it accordingly? There isn't much left I can do powerwise. Maybe a underdrive pulley, cat, and a new bipe.

I haven't tested it yet but gains are noticeable. I get my ride back friday and will probably track it next week

NOS...seperate module etc. Anyway gains are seen based on the mods you have. I think the number is 8 to 10% of total horsepower. So if you have a CAI and add the JWT you would see less of a gain than someone who has I/Y/E/UDP.

Yep, but I think it depends, I don't think Kaleb got a new one when he went from auto to 5spd though.
