TURN SIGNALS - Just realized this

The Turn signals stay off even if the lights are on, I supposed I will sound stupid by saying this but I've had my max for a week now and I just intalled the dimond cut signals yesterday and found out that the lights stay off, I've search over the forums for this but was not able to find, maybe I'm not doing it right but can anyone tell me how to rewired the signals so they can stay on when I turn the lights on? I just think that what's the point of putting diamond cut signals if they're not on unless you turn? it kills the fun. Anyway can anyone help me?

thanks.

Like I said I hope I don't sound too stupid but I guess I DID

I've own many different cars and up until now, this is the second car that I've bought that has them off, then the rest are on when you turn the lights on and then they blink when you turn the signal on

You've got your clearance/position lamps (next to your headlamp) that will come on when your lights are on.

On your bumper, you've got a turn in the front that only blinks when you have your turn signal on. You also have a sidemarker (on the side of course) that stays on with your lights, just like your clearance/position lamps.

On some cars, the clearance/position is a dual-filament and will switch to a brigher setting when you have your turn on (it will not blink, just stay on).

I suppose I'm saying all this because you might be looking at the wrong light?

I do know that I have sidemarker and that it stays on whenI turn on the lights, but I'm talking about the TURN SIGNALS that are next to it, they are off and only turn on when you turn the signal on, what I'm trying to do is to make them turn on the same way the sidemarkers do ( thanks though, I did get some instructions already i'll try to do this lil job.

Well here goes some typing...

You can do the following to our Maxima's:
(at least for a 97, 'cause thats what i've done)
1. Rewire your turn signals (both the side marker and actual blinker) to be on all the time when the headlights are on or the 1/2 way position
2. You can rewire your fogs to come on when your lights are in the 1/2 way position
3. you can rewire your rear turnsignals and rear marker lights to blink together
4. you can rewire your corner light (next to headlight) to be even brighter (27w, i think)
5.You can rewire your blinker and side marker light to alternate on/off and off/on...looks cool-just did this last week!

GEEEZ, that was a lot of typing... but i hate posts that lack good description!

Hope this answers some questions...

What's so damn funny? Mine come on with my parklights and blink brighter when I hit the turn signal. Ben, email me and I'll give you a write-up on how to have yours like mine.

You can also rewire the turn signals to act as front parking lamps, by buying some dual filament 1157 bulb sockets from Pepboys and wiring the positive and negative to the turn signal's pos., and neg. Then wiring the second neg. to the sidemarker's neg.

Studies have been done in the past that show that turn signals are more effective when they blink on-off-on-off instead of dim-bright-dim-bright.

Eh, they still look better when they come on with the park lights. If the side bumper light is rewired with the signal, then the side bumper lights are the ones that will actually blink on-off-on-off so there's at least some morehelp in indicating your turn at night.

Yes I put the new bulbs on, the orange ones, they look good but I'm planning on replacing them but still thinking about it.

NOPE, did not work the person who gave me instructions was just messing up with me so I'm still looking.
