First, do a search :-)

Now that I have that out of my system, the Hanabi kit is ok. It does not have the quality of a true german HID. Remember you get what you pay for, true long lasting HID's will run you in excess of 900 dollars. My .02.

No >>

At this point in time, no aftermarket HID conversion kit is worth the poor lighting characteristics and loss of highbeams.

The Hanabi kit is nice for the money. I have them and love them.

Yes it's worth it! I have the Purple kit and love it.

Who cares if it's not the best out there. For the money, it's a bargain.

For the people who don't like the kit, well it's too bad for them. Unless they can come up with something better and at a similar price, the Hanabi kit is the way to go.

Poor lighting characteristics??? We all know that you have issues about HID lighting. But to say it has poor lighting characteristics is totally incorrect.

Drive at night in a 9004 converted HID system. If it's aimed correctly there is daylight on the road in front of you. You can't even come close to that with any Halogen/Zenon 9004 bulb no matter how high the wattage is.

For 400 bucks, it's totally worth it!

And BTW - they now have a 9004 system which gives you back your high beams. The bulb actually tilts into the position of your HB reflector when you put high beams on. I think the site that sells the system is called hidkits.com That system runs about 700 bucks and up.

I don't want to get into the whole technical side of this >>

It's a real simple case of one step forwards, two steps back.

You get more light...everything is brighter. But now you have more oncoming glare and backdazzle in poor weather. I don't know about that new highbeam system, but that doesn't change the fact that the lowbeam pattern is poor. HID kits will be worth it on glorious day when they can perform like their OE counterparts.

Looked over that site you referenced...good stuff. If they can make it operate reliably and control the tolerances, there is much potential. As for beam pattern, maybe they'll come up with a method of shielding the HID capsule properly.

I've stated this again and again...I have nothing against HID lighting...just against improper application of HID lighting.

I basically have the same question as the guy started the thread. but I got one more question, though. how's the no-high-beam HID compare to the high beam of our car? I live in a small town and often REALLY need to use high beam when there is no light in the country road.

Check out my sig on how the blue 6000k hanabi's look like. It's not the best kit out there but I am happy with it.
