noise when turning right...

I hear some noise when I make a right turn. Took the car to the mechanic from where I had my struts and other things done few months ago. Was told that the struts and everything are fine and this is something not to worry about. Also was told that if this needs to be fixed the car has to be taken to a body shop and it has something to do with bush.

The car runs perfectly fine but this noise is annoying. Any input on what this problem is and what needs to be done to fix this is greatly appreciated.

Are you on stock springs are is your car lowered? If you on stock springs and you had only your struts replaced, then most likely it's the strut bearings that have gone bad.

www.motorvate.ca has a nice write up which explains the process of replacing them.

BTW - Find a new mechanic!

Is it kind of like a clicking noise? If it is, sounds like your axle could be going. Happened to me not to long ago, needed the whole set up with a new boot and everything. $200 something to get it fixed. Not a good day.

If it roars when you turn right and then gets quiet when back straight I would say it is probably your bearings. This happend to my car.

Thank you all for your replies. TO give some more info, I hear the click noise only when turning right WITHOUT coming to a complete stop. It I stop and turn right (like at a stop sign) I dont hear any noise. Planning to take the car to the mechanic in the next couple of weeks. Can you guys provide some input to this problem. Thanks again for all your feedback.

I am having the same problem, but mine only popped up after the dealer replaced the carrier bearings on my differential.

Please let me know what you find out when you take yours in. I took mine back and the "technician" said that he couldn't hear it in the shop and for me to wait and see if it gets worse . . . great solution . . . I plan on taking back in next week and will also let you know.

Only makes noise when you turn, while in motion.....CV joint could be bad.

I don't know about KSM but my noise is not a continuous clicking like a CV joint would make, but only a single ping when coming out of a turn, or sometimes when I move the wheel after hitting a dip in the road. With my hand on the wheel at 12 o'clock and make a right turn (or sometimes left) to about 5 o'clock, you come out of the turn and straighten out, the ping or pop will happen at about 1 o'clock when straightening back to 12 o'clock. And it does not happen every time, only about 40%.

KSM is that how yours happens?

Mtman 74,
I think my scenario is more or less similar to what yours is but I haven't observed it closely to hear the noise when hitting a dip. I hear the noise after the steering is involved in the turn operation for a while. Also I rode with a mechanic and have him hear the noise and he said that it has something to do with the bush and the car might need body work.
