hey thanks guys yes you are correct that is a fuel injected 351w under the hood and it wouldnt fit under the stock hood so i had to make some really quick cheap modifications to the hood. but dont worry i now have a nice sharp looking fiberglass cowl hood for it. the car is back in the shop right now getting a 377 in place of the 351w and a 250shot with about 700lbs of weight removed from the car. we are looking at low low 9s with the new weight and setup i really want to run in the drag radial class at the NMRA events. thanks for all the compliments guys i enjoy talking about cars no matter what kind of cars they are. im what you could call a true car nut

Boats???

You all seem to think Lincoln's are boats. May I familiarize you with the verneralbe Mark VII's, more to the point, the LSC's: 5.0 HO with 3.27's from the factory. Please see attached picture. Oh, by the way, I love my turbo'd 85 Maxima almost as much as I love my 87 Lincoln Mark VII LSC. Blowers??? Ever hear of Kenne Bell??? Oh yeah baby, those cars roll like a raped ape with these blowers. Almost anything that fits in the 5.0 Mustangs works/fits in the Mark VII's, don't under estimate the, what did you call them??? Oh yeah, boats. hehehe!!! I can't take credit for the following image, it isn't my car. I don't have any digitized pics of my car. I just wanted to post this so you can see what they look like all done up.

You Guys want to see a boat>? I have a 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix tied up the the dock in my backyard. The only thing boatlike in the MK7 is the cornering.

the cornering on my Mark VII is great... I have an LSC which is the beefed up Mark with suspension and the like. On a post on our board a few weeks back some guy said that the Marks were crappy cars... if they are crappy cars how come we come with factory headers, forged pistons, other high end mods huh? When Lincoln had this car made they were no slouches.

I know for a fact MarkVII are fast others here on the org can call them what they want but I drove one when it was pretty new and I know a 4th gen wont hang with it, it has lots of torque and pulls very hard. I ran against SC400 in it and spanked him with the MarkVII, which everyone knows the SC400 have the Supra 240HP engine in them. I cant vouch for the MarkVIII but I wont underestimate any of them besides they are V8's

Cornering??? Now there you are wrong again. In stock form maybe, BUT!!!! When you set the airbags to their lowest setting, swap in the massive front sway bar from the Thunderbird Supercoupe and run 17" wheels with 40 series rubber, there isn't an import here that I can't keep up with in the corners. Oh, by the way, did you know that the computer that controls the air suspension in these cars will actually let some air out of the bags on the inside wheels to make the car squat better in the corners??? Tell me the imports have that kind of control. Nope. Again, just thought I would throw out my .02 cents. Cheers!!!

Thats a nice luxury feature to have to lower your suspension with a press of a button but once that suspension gets shot prepare yourself to pay out the rear. Its not even worth it, is better to go with an adjustable shock and a nice lowering springs or even coilovers to have the adjustability to go up and down as you wish. But the airsuspension set good idea but thats the reason you see lots of older model lincolns unevenly lowered because other folks don t have the cash to fix it again.

Yep...here we go. I never said LSC's were crappy cars.. I owned one had a couple mods and thought the cornering was weak, I had airbags stock swaybars and 17" cobra rims..maybe it was my car. Sure I guess any car can handle after parts are put on, consider my stand point as stock and thats it...for running with 4th gen's .. 225hp in a 38?? lbs car it will run 16 sec 1/4's mine did... yours might run 11's like Ant's I am talking stock.. I dont understand you coming down on my comment, maybe I took it the wrong way, but forums are a place to share info not get ****ed at people who know less than you....So lets keep it hot and play nice, you Licoln guys seem cool...lets not get at each other.

welcome to maxima.org

Sorry dude, I didn't mean for my comments to be read in that manner. I should have placed a few smilies in the message. No hard feelings here at all. Like I mentioned, I have an 85 Maxima SE, I live the car, it is my third one. I have 4 engines and 2 tranny's sitting in my garage for it. I swapped in a turbo'd V6 from a 300ZX. Anyway, it's all good dude. No worries.

I am so happy to have brought all of us together with a bit of knowledge and friendship at the end

I do think that we need to have a battle at the track one day. HOPEFULLY, sometime soon I will be heading up to NJ to Atco or Englishtown where I know one awesome Mark8 guy. You guys are great.

My 87 toyota supra has that kind of control. One push of the tems button and it handles better. THis option was available from 86.5-92 on the Toyota Supra.

It is nice to talk to people that have good things to say and have decent power in their cars. Leave the making fun and name calling for when you go over to StreetKiaz.com. NOW thats a bunch of 18 second idiots!
