Replacing reverse lens with floresent light cover so red/clears match. (97-99)

I just redid my tail lights since they did not come out that great the first time. I used a dremel this time and even though they are not perfect they are very good. I am happy with them, sorry no digital camera.

I would like to replace my reverse lenses with the same material so they match perfectly. Before I crack them open is there anything I should know? How do you get the lens material to stay? Will whatever holds the stock lens in place work for the floresent light cover or will I have to use something else?

araffio did this mod, I e-mailed him with this thread so hopefully he will give his input on this.
