fog lights on '95 GLE

Can I put after market fog lights on my 95 GLE? The front bumber seems to have the cuts for it, but probably I still need to do the wiring? How would I be operating it?

I have owned this car for 6 years and only recently thanks to this forum have become an enthusiasts on doing yourself mods and repairs.

All Maximas are pre-wired for just about everything. You will find wires taped up near where the fog lights go that can be plugged into fog lights when you get them. I am not to sure on cutting the holes though.

If you buy a factory fog light kit it will come with a new turn signal stalk that has a switch for the fog lights on it. Check the 'parts for sale forum' or the 'group deals forum' on this board or look on e-bay. Make sure you get the kit for the 95-96, the 97-99 are different.

BTW, quite possibly the best sig ever

If you buy the OEM foglight kit it will include the mounting brackets, relay, lamps, bulbs, interior switch, and the cutting templates you need. It's not a hrd job, just a little time consuming and you have to be patient. I got mine (brand new) for $125 shipped to my door and did the install in a long evening. If you can't find a better deal than that, let me know and I'll give you the email address of the guy I ordered them from.

I need to finally install some fogs on my 96, the best price ive found for the new nissan fog kit is about 150. how did you cut the holes in the bumper, what type of tools did you need? Also how do you change out the blinker stalk or whatever that has the headlight and new fog light switch on it? thanks for the help.

The kit comes with complete instructions. The switch stalk is probably the easiest part of the job. You remove the 1/2 dozen screws that hold the 2 halves of the steering column cover together, remove the 2 screws holding the existing switch stalk to the column and unplug it from the wiring harness. Reverse the process with the new one.

Besides a few basic tools like screwdrivers and metric wrenches, you will need a utility knife.
