Installed - B & M Supercooler # 70265
Installed - B & M Supercooler # 70265
Finally recoverig from knee surgery with a lot of mods to install.
For this particular cooler, there is not an installation kit supplied.
The cooler has female NPT fittings.
Items required:
-5 feet of 3/8" transmission cooler line
-Total of (4) XRP fittings
-Item # 234508 No. 8 45 degree push on (2)
-Item #981688 Adapter #8 FLARE 1/2" NPT (2)
-Long zip ties
Tools needed:
Phillips head screwdriver
Needle nose pliers
Cutter for hose
Vice Grips
The hardest part of this installation was fitting the hose over the end of the fitting. When you purchase hose, make sure you purchase transmission hose not fuel line hose.
Took me about two hours due to struggling with a piece of hose that was not very pliable. I did have another opeice which was easier to work with and it took about a half hour to place over the end of the fitting required for this job!
No tranny hose problem: This is a 45 minute job.
I used the write up in the Shop Talk section of this site.
AND:
No I did not notice a difference in shifting etc. I installed this because of some future mods I will be installing.

Jeff:
Maybe next Thurday...
I will be travelling for a few days for fun and for da job!
FYI: Putting the hose over those fittings was a b&tch and I did use hose clamps to secure them to the cooler.
So, we can get it done.
Other than the fittings, it was very very easy to do AND I just got a new jack and it gets the car WAY WAY off the ground so I cna fit my big A S S underneath it!!!!!1

Why would someone mount it against the condenser?
I mounted mine on ( I do not know the name)the screen which is in between the condenser and the radiator.
Where have you guys mounted your cooler?

this statement is brought to you from AnGe's own personal experience.

Anyway, my tranny cooler has been remounted so that it's zip tied on the bottom half and upper half is held with a homemade flat metal 'j' hook bracket bolted on the frame (bracket is wrapped with electrical tape so it's not 'cutting' the tranny cooler).

#70255 is all you need, unless you have NOS and a blower installed.
The 70265 is a "street rod" version with incorrect fittings for installation, thus the problems.

As long as you used the pads in the install kit for the mounting holes, that isn't an issue.

Bill, you hit the nail on the head
It is a Street Rod version and is polished.
Very small and compact. It does not have incorrect fittings as described above.......it has NO fittings.
The fittings for it are available but they will require more time and YES, $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Interesting, so is it a chrome-like finish? I was curious as to any other differences, besides the fittings are wrong.

It is a small item and here is a picture of it from B & M 's website.

The fittings needed are NPT or AN fittings. An #8 AN adapter is needed.

I got it because of the size. It is really small.
Also, because it was polished however, it really cannot be seen so I am the only one who knows it is polished.
