Looks great, except maybe the license plate frame. What size mesh did you use (normal gutter mesh)? Also, how did you attach it? I can't see anything like on some others. I want to do this to my '97 arctic pearl white SE, but don't want clamps/zip-ties visible.

Yeah, about that license plate frame...

It screams "I should be on a rusted out American-made trailer trash ride", such as an IROC, Daytona, or K-car...

I'm not getting personal, to each their own... just my .02. Of course, my smoked license plate cover could look like a$$ to some people, so I'm open to being flamed

Apart from that though, the grille looks cool. I assume that you'll be doing something like that with the upper grille portion? Might look pretty sharp. I don't think I've seen one with a painted white grille (hopefully won't look too ricey).

Mike

p.s. sorry to hack on your plate cover

How much did it cost to paint your grill? I am about to do mine and I want to get a general idea on cost.

Thanks

license frame...

you guys are 100% right, the chained license plate is ugly. I've been meaning to take it off but wasn't sure which plate frame to get in exchange. I put those plates on in the newbie days, thought they were cool, but not any more!

As for the paintings i did:
for the grille: i did something new or at least something that most maxima owners didn't do, i painted the black part of the grille, and left the chrome alone because it matches my door handles. For those who asked, i took the grille out, masked all the chrome areas off and then primed, coated(2x), clearcoated it.

for the mesh:
im not sure what the name of the sheet metal i got was called, but i got it at home depote and i looked for the best design i liked. i then cut out a piece primed, painted, clear coated it...inserted it back in...and for the most it was sitting pretty tight...however the sides (left & right) were pulling back and weren't as tight to the bumper as i wanted it, so i took a small plastic thingy that has thin metal running on the inside of thise plastic and just tied each side down into the bottom of the bumper after drilling 2 tinny wholes. You cannot see the wholes nor the tie down thingy...and it holds it in very well.
