Synthetic Blend at 114K

Hey I just changed over to sythetic blend at 114K and am considering changing to full sythetic by 130K. Has anyone experienced any problems with switching over? Any special oil filters or other stuff required?

I don't think you will have any problem switching over. Just use Nissan filters.

Synthetic Blend? Which oil are you using? I hope it's not Castrol Syntec Synthetic Blend, because that is not very good oil.

I switched from dino oil to a full synthetic oil at 102,000 miles and have no problems to date. No leaks or oil burn-off.

There shouldn't be any issue with going to a full syn at your next oil change. Many people with higher mileage have switched with no problems. The synthetic blends are a waste of money, not enough "synthetic" in them to justify the cost. If you want dino oil, buy that. If you want synthetic oil, buy that. The blends are just marketing hype.

Even amsoil is not technically a 100% synthetic they also use a petrolem component or "carrier oil" named infineum to carry the additive package within the oil. Although I concur with thought that blends are mostly marketing hype and no substantive value can be found I believe that schaffeurs stands out to be unique in this category and has to date proven itself worthy oil to look into it is a synthetic blend with characteristics for extending drain intervals
